Intimate piercing - all types
Intimate piercing is a separate category of piercings that requires anatomical knowledge and experience that goes beyond standard piercer training. Unlike ear, face or body piercing, the selection of a specific type and its safety depend largely on the individual anatomy - the same type of piercing may be a simple procedure for one person, and inadvisable for another due to anatomical reasons. For this reason, this guide is for information purposes only: it describes the differences between each type, but does not replace consultation with a piercer specializing in intimate piercing.
Women's intimate piercing
VCH (Vertical Clitoral Hood)
VCH (Vertical Clitoral Hood)
The most frequently chosen intimate piercing for women, due to the relatively short healing time and lower risk of complications than other types in this group, provided the appropriate anatomy is assessed by the piercer.
HCH (Horizontal Clitoral Hood)
HCH (Horizontal Clitoral Hood)
Horizontal variant, less frequently performed than VCH due to narrower anatomical criteria qualifying for the procedure.
Triangle
Triangle
A piercing requiring specific anatomical structure, assessed individually; not every person qualifies.
Christina
Christina
Surface piercing on the upper part of the clitoris, higher risk of migration than with VCH due to its superficial nature.
Labia
Labia
Several variants depending on the exact location, healing usually longer than VCH.
Nefertiti
Nefertiti
It combines two piercing points into one jewelry composition and requires an anatomical assessment of both points at the same time.
Men's intimate piercing
Prince Albert
Prince Albert
One of the most frequently performed intimate piercings in men, relatively short healing time compared to other types in this group.
Reverse Prince Albert
Reverse Prince Albert
A variant with a different exit location than classic PA, generally more technically difficult and less frequently performed.
Frenum
Frenum
A piercing requiring assessment of the elasticity and thickness of the tissue in this place.
Ampallang
Ampallang
Horizontal piercing, one of the most anatomically demanding piercings and requires longer healing time than PA.
Apadravya
Apadravya
A vertical piercing, like an ampallang, requires a detailed anatomical assessment and is associated with longer healing.
Didoe
Didoe
It requires a specific anatomical structure (the presence of an appropriate edge of tissue), not everyone qualifies.
Guiche
Guiche
Piercing in the perineum area, longer healing time due to the location exposed to friction.
